Kim Si-woo showed strong finishing power.
On the 31st (local time), at the Memorial Park Golf Course (par 70, 7,435 yards) in Houston, Texas, USA, Kim finished the 4th round of the PGA Tour Texas Children's Houston Open (total prize money $9.1 million) with a 4-under-par 66, securing a tie for 17th place (7-under-par 273). Starting from a tie for 22nd, he made five birdies (one bogey). He cruised with birdies on holes 1, 4, 8, 9, and 16, but recorded a bogey on the final 18th hole (par 4). This marks his sixth top-25 finish this year.
Stephan Jaeger (Germany), ranked 71st in the world, reduced three strokes that day to clinch the victory by one stroke (12-under-par 268). He lifted his first winner's trophy in his 135th PGA Tour start since joining in 2018. The winner's prize money was $1,638,000 (approximately 2.2 billion KRW). Jaeger has six wins on the Korn Ferry Tour, the PGA Tour's developmental circuit, but this is his first PGA Tour victory. He also earned a spot in the season's first major, the Masters, which begins on April 11. Jaeger commented, "I didn't make any birdies on the back nine, but since it's a tough course, I tried to stay calm and play steadily."
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (USA) missed a birdie putt on the 18th hole (par 4), failing to reach a playoff and finishing tied for 2nd place (11-under-par 269), one stroke behind. Riding a strong momentum with back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship, he narrowly missed achieving three consecutive tournament victories.
Defending champion Tony Finau, along with Taylor Moore (both USA), Alejandro Tosti (Argentina), and Thomas Detry (Belgium), joined the group tied for 2nd place. Lee Kyoung-hoon shot 2-under-par 68 to move up to a tie for 31st place (4-under-par 276). Kim Sung-hyun finished tied for 45th place (2-under-par 278) without improving his score.
