At LG Arts Center Seoul U+ Stage until June 7
Sejong Center for the Performing Arts will present the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theater Company's original musical "Again, Spring" at the LG Arts Center Seoul U+ Stage from May 8 to June 7.
The musical "Again, Spring" tells the story of middle-aged women who find fewer and fewer places to stand on stage. It unfolds the inner struggles of menopause, retirement, and second chances in life?dreams long ignored since childhood?through lively and boisterous conversations. The story depicts women living fiercely as someone's daughter, mother, and wife, who empathize and unite to boldly step into the second act of their lives.
"Again, Spring" is one of the signature original repertoire works of the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theater Company, now entering its third season this year. Developed in 2022, it premiered in Seoul, Sunchang, Hwacheon, and other locations. At its premiere, the production was created through a life-transition workshop involving actual actors in their 50s and citizens, using a devising theatre method?a collaborative creation process where participants actively contribute to the script.
The second season was performed last year, with middle-aged and older audiences accounting for 73% of all ticket reservations.

The seven cast members carry the 80-minute drama on stage without exiting. During a rare bus trip with friends, lively chatter filled with joy and excitement is interrupted by a bus accident. At this moment, a mysterious figure appears, raising the theme of the second act of life, and the drama of the middle-aged actresses begins. The story unfolds connecting and expanding the lives of seven women: a perfectionist announcer who survived fierce competition, a passionate insurance planner, a responsible housewife who prioritized her family, a teacher who spent her life caring for her in-laws after her husband's death, a single gold miss who lives freely but longs for a life partner, and a farmer who lost her childhood dream and lived an ordinary life.
This year's performance welcomes new energy with the addition of actors Hwang Seok-jung and Ye Ji-won. Ye Ji-won makes her musical stage debut.
The female creative team, who have been involved since the original development stage, reunites once again to prepare the third performance. Writer Kim Sol-ji, known for musicals such as "Eugene and Eugene," "Secret Garden," and "Oz"; director Lee Ki-ppeum, who directed "Eugene and Eugene," "Secret Garden," and the sound play "Chegongnyeo Kang Ju-ryong"; and composer Yeon Ri-mok, a member of the band Noon Tteugo Cobain and contributor to films like "Tune in for Love" and "Our House," come together once more.
A 30% preview discount is available for performances through May 17. Additionally, various discounts are offered, including a 30% "Family Love Discount" when attending with parents, a 30% "Jeans Discount" when coming with friends wearing jeans, and group discounts such as the "Three Musketeers Discount" for groups of three or more and the "Five Princesses Discount" for groups of five or more.
