Gyeonggi-do Inspects 48 Safety-Vulnerable Facilities Including Bridges in Preparation for Rainy Season

Gyeonggi Province will conduct a safety management inspection from the 2nd of this month to the 29th of next month to prevent disaster risks for old houses and bridges ahead of the rainy season.


The inspection targets a total of 48 locations, including 15 publicly managed bridges in 16 cities and counties, 30 privately managed old houses, and 3 buildings.

The main inspection items are ▲ major structural components such as pillars, piers, beams, and slabs of old houses, bridges, and buildings, as well as serious defects, cracks, and deformations in exterior finishing materials ▲ implementation of safety measures to eliminate additional risk factors ▲ management status of mandatory compliance such as safety inspections and maintenance plan establishment ▲ elimination of risk factors through repair and reinforcement, and grade adjustment.


Gyeonggi Province will conduct the inspections on-site in collaboration with experts in the relevant fields and private sectors, and any additional risks found will be corrected through safety measure orders.


Kim Byung-tae, head of the Gyeonggi Province Special Safety Inspection Team, said, "We are doing our best to prevent disaster accidents in advance for the safety of residents through year-round safety inspections of various facilities during disaster-vulnerable periods such as thawing season, rainy season, and winter." He added, "We ask all related parties to pay attention to the occurrence and resolution of surrounding risk factors and to prepare accordingly."
