Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that on April 24th at 10 a.m., a special lecture for SongpaRun parents will be held at the Songpa-gu Office auditorium, conducted by education influencers HyorinPapa and HongongSsaem.

The district invites renowned instructors to provide parent education aimed at delivering useful information on children's career paths and character development to local parents, as well as helping improve parenting skills.

In particular, this special lecture will feature HyorinPapa and HongongSsaem, famous influencers in mom-led English education, presenting a two-part session on the theme of “Age-appropriate English Education for Children.”

‘HyorinPapa’ instructor Sung Ki-hong is a leading English instructor at EBS English and an author of works such as Busy Elementary English Diary Writing, The Disappeared Grandmother, and Easy Mom-led English with HyorinPapa. Through his YouTube channel and various activities, he offers English education methods tailored to children’s developmental stages.

‘HongongSsaem’ instructor Heo Jun-seok has been an English teacher at EBS for 17 years and is also the author of the bestselling ‘Hongong’ series.

In the first part, ‘HyorinPapa’ will deliver a lecture titled ‘Focusing on English Education for Preschool to Elementary Students,’ presenting customized teaching methods by period and correcting common mistakes parents make in English education.

The second part, led by HongongSsaem, will focus on ‘The Bridge from Elementary to Middle School,’ providing an in-depth lecture on the characteristics of middle school English and self-directed learning strategies for successful entrance exam English.

Additionally, a Q&A session with attending parents will be held to address their concerns and questions.

The lecture is free and intended for parents with children in preschool, elementary, middle, or high school. Registration opens on April 2nd at 10 a.m. via the SongpaRun education portal, with a first-come, first-served limit of 400 participants.

The 2024 SongpaRun parent special lectures will be held over five sessions, covering diverse and valuable topics such as literacy and reading guidance, family communication methods, emotional coaching, and career education. The second lecture, scheduled for June, will be delivered by author Choi Seung-pil, who wrote Why Does Our Child Hate Reading?, focusing on reading methods that enhance study skills.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “In the rapidly changing educational environment, we have prepared this special lecture to help children develop self-directed learning skills and to establish parents’ roles in child-rearing. We hope for active participation and interest.”
