The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 31st that the "Fair Recruitment Counseling Center," where companies can receive free legal and labor consultations related to recruitment, will open on the 1st of next month.
The counseling center, operating on weekdays from 9 AM to 6 PM until the end of October, offers consultations via phone, KakaoTalk, email, or in-person visits according to the company's preference. It also provides guidance on government-supported recruitment projects such as fair recruitment consulting.
The obligations that companies must follow during the recruitment process are scattered across various laws, including the Recruitment Procedure Act, the Act on Equal Employment and Support for Work-Family Reconciliation, and the Personal Information Protection Act. Due to this, the Ministry of Employment and Labor reported that some small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with insufficient personnel unintentionally violate the laws and receive fines.
Lee Jung-sik, Minister of Employment and Labor, stated, "To spread a culture of fair recruitment, it is most important to help companies comply with the law when hiring," adding, "We hope the Fair Recruitment Counseling Center will become a reliable recruitment partner for SMEs."
