In the 41st minute of the second half, Son Heung-min received the ball in the defensive area, dribbled close to the halfway line, and passed to Timo Werner on the left flank. Werner penetrated deep into the left side of the opponent's penalty box and delivered a low cross to Brennan Johnson in the center. Surrounded by defenders, Johnson did not try to be greedy and lightly connected the ball to Son Heung-min, who was sprinting into the penalty box, and Son finished with his right foot.

Tottenham fell behind just 3 minutes into the match after Luton Town’s Tahith Chong scored the opening goal. Johnson was substituted in at the start of the second half and played a key role alongside Son Heung-min in the comeback victory. In the 6th minute of the second half, Johnson broke through Luton Town’s right flank and delivered a sharp cross that led to an own goal by the opponent, and he also assisted Son Heung-min’s winning goal.

Tottenham (17 wins, 5 draws, 7 losses; 56 points) maintained 5th place in the league after earning 3 points. They are 3 points behind 4th place Aston Villa (18 wins, 5 draws, 7 losses; 59 points), the cutoff for UEFA Champions League (UCL) qualification, with one game in hand.

Son Heung-min scored his 15th goal of the season, placing him joint 4th in the league’s top scorers alongside Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool). He narrowed the gap to the league’s top scorer Erling Haaland (Manchester City, 18 goals) to 3 goals.

Son Heung-min also scored his 160th goal for Tottenham, ranking him 5th in the club’s all-time scoring list.
