Blitzway announced on the 29th that at the regular general shareholders' meeting held on the same day, resolutions were passed regarding the change of company name and business objectives, as well as the appointment of inside directors and auditors.
Last month, Blitzway's business structure changed following its merger with H&Entertainment, a management company centered on actors including Ko Du-shim, Joo Ji-hoon, Jung Ryeo-won, In Gyo-jin, So Yi-hyun, Chun Woo-hee, Park Ha-sun, Woo Do-hwan, Kim Hye-eun, Ryu Hyun-kyung, Son Dam-bi, Yoon Park, Jung In-sun, Kwak Dong-yeon, Yoon Jong-seok, and Kim Woo-seok.
As a result, Blitzway Studio now operates various content sectors including figure business, management, and drama production. Its subsidiary responsible for drama production, Blitzway Production, has contracts with over ten writers such as Yoo Bo-ra, who wrote the dramas "The Person Resembling You" and "Just Between Lovers," Jang Hong-cheol, writer of "Doctor Lawyer," and Heo Seong-hye, writer of "Speed to You 493km."
To strengthen business expertise, the company will shift to a dual CEO system with Choi Seung-won and Lee Seung-woo. CEO Choi Seung-won will oversee the figure business division, while CEO Lee Seung-woo will manage the entertainment business division. The existing CEO, Bae Seong-ung, will take on the role of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).
At this shareholders' meeting, Blitzway appointed former KOIN CEO Lee Seung-woo and former H&Entertainment CEO Hong Min-ki as inside directors, and newly appointed lawyer Lee Dong-ryul from the law firm Sejong and Lee Kang-hee, CEO of JDB Entertainment, as outside directors.
This expands the board, previously composed of figure business experts, by adding entertainment experts and appointing a lawyer and a broadcasting-specialized management CEO as outside directors. The company explained that this is to enhance transparency and expertise, solidifying its position as a comprehensive content company.
Although the existing figure business division faced difficulties last year due to market impacts from high inflation and high interest rates, preparations for diversifying production sources were completed earlier this year. Currently, products reinterpreting famous intellectual properties (IPs) such as Disney, Star Wars, and Voltron continue to attract consumer interest. Additionally, the company’s own IP, Sticky Monster Lab, is entering various markets through collaborations. Having directly entered overseas markets such as Japan and achieved results, the company expects improved performance going forward.
A company representative stated, "This year will be a year of full-fledged leap forward with sales from management and drama production reflected alongside the figure business," adding, "We will establish a foundation to grow into a comprehensive content company capable of expanding Korea’s content industry overseas."
