Graduate Students from 10 Northeast Asian Universities Including Korea, China, and Japan Participate
The Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project Group at Pukyong National University held the "8th Next-Generation Graduate Student Forum" over two days, from the 28th to the 29th, at the Somin Hall on the 2nd floor of the Miraegwan building.
Under the theme of "The Dynamism of the Northeast Asian Maritime Humanities Network," next-generation graduate students from 10 universities in Northeast Asia participated to present and discuss domestic and international exchanges and achievements related to the dynamism of maritime humanities in Northeast Asia.
These outstanding next-generation researchers are conducting marine-related studies at domestic institutions including Pukyong National University, Seoul National University, and Jeju National University, as well as international universities such as China Ocean University, Shanghai Normal University, Xiamen University, National Taiwan Ocean University, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, University of Tokyo, and Kyoto University.
During the two-day forum, the next-generation researchers shared their research outcomes in three sessions and a roundtable discussion: ▲Northeast Asian Maritime Network and Cultural Representation ▲Northeast Asian Maritime Network and Exchange of Cultural Artifacts ▲Northeast Asian Maritime Network and Cross-Cultural Experiences, offering fresh perspectives on the dynamism of Northeast Asian maritime humanities.
Kim Chang-kyung, head of the HK+ Project Group, stated, "The Next-Generation Graduate Student Forum provides a broad academic exchange opportunity for emerging researchers in Northeast Asian maritime humanities who have great interest and are conducting research in this field. We hope it will continue to serve as a platform for ongoing academic exchange among domestic and international scholars in the future."
