Kumho Tire Obtains Information Security Certification from German Association

Kumho Tire announced on the 29th that it has received TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) certification from the German Association of the Automotive Industry.


This certification is a standard required for suppliers of new car tires and other parts and partners. It is a certification system created by the German Association of the Automotive Industry to standardize security evaluation criteria for automakers worldwide. Based on the ISO/IEC 27001 of the International Organization for Standardization, it evaluates four categories: information security system, partner security system, data protection system, and prototype protection system.

Kumho Tire received certification at a total of seven locations, including its Seoul office in Korea, Yongin Central Research Center, Gwangju and Gokseong factories, Nanjing and Changchun factories in China, and the Georgia factory in the United States. It plans to obtain additional certifications this year to secure certifications for domestic and overseas business sites. Im Wan-joo, Head of Management Planning at Kumho Tire, said, "Based on differentiated technology and top-level security management capabilities, we will expand our presence in overseas markets."
