Providing Meals and Hospital Accompaniment Services in Addition to Housework and Caregiving
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province will implement the 'Daily Care' service starting next month to reduce the burden on young and middle-aged adults who need care and young family caregivers.
'Daily Care' is a service that provides integrated customized support according to the needs of users, including home care, housekeeping, meal and nutrition management, and hospital accompaniment.
The service targets ▲ young adults preparing for independence and other young or middle-aged adults (ages 19-64) who need care ▲ young family caregivers (ages 13-39) who care for family members suffering from illnesses or who are responsible for the household.
The service is divided into 'Basic Service' and 'Specialized Service.'
The 'Basic Service' is subdivided by housekeeping care items and hours. ▲ Type A (Basic Care Type, 36 hours per month) and ▲ Type C (Additional Care Type, 72 hours per month) provide both housekeeping and care. For housekeeping only, Type B is divided into ▲ B-1 (Basic Housekeeping Type, 12 hours per month) and ▲ B-2 (Additional Housekeeping Type, 24 hours per month).
The 'Specialized Service' offers meal and nutrition management for those who have difficulty preparing meals on their own, and hospital accompaniment services for those with mobility difficulties.
The service usage period is six months. However, after reassessment, it can be extended up to five times for a maximum of 36 months. Applications can be made by the individual or a proxy by visiting the local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center with identification documents.
