Promotion of Companion Beaches and Marine Ecosystem Conservation
S-OIL donated 100 million KRW to support volunteer activities in the Ulsan area.
On the 29th, S-OIL announced that it delivered the ‘Sunshine Sharing Volunteer Program Project Fund’ to the Ulsan Volunteer Center at Ulsan City Hall, attended by Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, S-OIL Ulsan Complex Head Kim Bo-chan, and Ulsan Volunteer Center Chairman Kim Seok-won.
The 100 million KRW project fund delivered that day will be used for the ‘Sunshine Sharing Volunteer Program Support Project,’ the ‘Companion Beach Care Campaign,’ and employee volunteer activities and education operations. The Ulsan Volunteer Center will be responsible for project operation and volunteer management.

Since its launch in 2011, the ‘Sunshine Sharing Volunteer Program Support Project’ has matched eight social welfare facilities in the Ulsan area one-on-one with the S-OIL Social Service Group, providing opportunities for people with disabilities, the elderly, and youth to participate in various experiential programs and volunteer services every month. The project resumed last year after COVID-19, with 670 volunteers participating annually.
The Companion Beach Care Campaign involves S-OIL’s adoption of Mokdo near Onsan-eup, Ulju-gun, as a ‘Companion Beach,’ conducting trash collection activities to preserve the coastal ecosystem and running a campaign encouraging nearby anglers to take their trash back with them.
Kim Bo-chan, S-OIL Ulsan Complex Head, said, “We are carrying out various social contribution activities based on the core value of sharing. We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibilities and become a company that coexists with the Ulsan community.”
Kim Seok-won, Chairman of the Ulsan Volunteer Center, stated, “We expect that the active participation of S-OIL employees in volunteer activities will greatly contribute to spreading the volunteer culture and improving public awareness.”
In addition to volunteer activities at social welfare facilities, S-OIL is conducting various volunteer activities for neighbors in need in our society, such as kimchi-sharing events, delivery of agricultural product packages, and baking volunteer services of love.
