Chatting for Over Two Hours Over One Chicken
Netizens React Differently to the Story
A restaurant owner expressed frustration over six customers who ordered only one whole chicken but chatted for two hours. On the 28th, a post titled "Six customers eating one whole chicken" was uploaded to an online community. The incident began a week earlier, on the 21st. The chicken restaurant owner, Mr. A, said, "On that day (the 21st), six customers came and ordered just one whole chicken and two bottles of drinks." It was reported that they repeatedly requested refills of pickled radish and asked to turn the heater on high while dining.
A week later, on the 28th, they visited Mr. A's store again. They told Mr. A, "Today (the 28th), two people ordered one fried chicken and said 'four more will come.'" Indeed, the rest of the group joined about 10 minutes later. Mr. A said, "Again, they only ordered one whole chicken and have been chatting for two hours." He concluded his post saying, "They seem to be people from a nearby church, and I am wondering whether I should say something or just leave them alone." Some netizens commented on the post, saying, "If there are six people, ordering at least two chickens is basic," "How much can one whole chicken feed?" and "At this point, they are not customers but freeloaders."
On the other hand, some netizens left opinions such as, "If the restaurant is not busy and there are plenty of seats, leaving them alone might not be a bad idea," and "From a consumer's perspective, it can be off-putting if there is not even one person inside." Other reactions included, "Church members tend to support each other; try visiting once," and "If you endure a few more times, they might bring a whole group of church members and increase sales."
