VI Asset Management announced on the 29th that it held a general shareholders' meeting and board meeting to appoint Lee Dong-geun, former CEO of Deutsche Asset Management, as the new CEO.
CEO Lee Dong-geun is a marketing expert with over 30 years of experience in numerous domestic and international asset management firms, including Kyobo AXA, Schroder Asset Management, and Hanwha Asset Management. Based on his experience as CEO at Deutsche Asset Management, he has taken on the new leadership role at VI Asset Management.
Leveraging his domestic and international marketing experience and leadership skills, CEO Lee plans to strengthen VI Asset Management's business strategy and solidify its position in the domestic market. He is expected to create synergy by collaborating with affiliates such as VI Hong Kong and VI Singapore.
CEO Lee stated, "Building on steadily accumulated achievements, I will focus on providing customers with differentiated investment solutions and customized management services," adding, "I aim to become a trusted investment partner for clients through not only enhancing profitability but also thorough risk management."
Born in 1964, CEO Lee graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in International Economics and earned a master's degree from Seoul National University's Graduate School of Environmental Studies. VI Asset Management, which began in 1999 as Cheil Investment Trust Management, became a subsidiary of VI Asset Management Company in 2019. VI Asset Management has launched various funds investing in domestic and international equities, bonds, alternative investments, and multi-strategy approaches. As of March this year, it manages a total of 11 trillion KRW in assets under management (AUM).
