Along with this agreement, Hana Financial Group plans to accelerate the expansion of its global business in Europe. It will steadily expand the scale of the local IB desk and global treasury center currently operated with dedicated professionals dispatched to Hana Bank’s London branch, continue to expand its European channels with the recently opened Hana Bank Budapest office in Hungary and the planned opening of a Poland branch by the end of this year, creating various synergy cases across Europe.

Hana Bank is the first Korean bank to enter France and Europe. It opened a London branch in 1968 and has operated the Paris branch, the only Korean bank channel in France, for 50 years since 1974, playing a pioneering role in Korean finance in the European financial market through the largest network of seven countries.

Eunhyung Lee, Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group, said, “The meeting of two financial institutions that have built long-standing trust in both South Korea and France has further elevated Hana Financial Group’s global status in the European financial market. Marking 50 years since both institutions entered France and South Korea, we will do our best to create meaningful achievements and synergies over the next 50 years through this agreement.”
