The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency has strengthened partnerships with local institutions in China to enhance the international competitiveness of startups in the province.
On the 29th, the agency announced that a delegation composed of representatives from innovation institutions related to economics, science, and technology in Beijing, known as the Silicon Valley of China, visited to explore Korea's startup innovation ecosystem and to reinforce exchange and cooperation between Gyeonggi-do and China.
The delegation listened to presentations by the agency's investment attraction task force on the current industrial status of Gyeonggi-do, investment environment, and other startup-related projects.
Kang Seong-cheon, President of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, is taking a commemorative photo with a delegation composed of representatives from Beijing's economic, science, and technology-related innovation institutions who visited the Gyeonggi Science Promotion Agency headquarters in Gwanggyo, Suwon on the 29th.
Following this, a meeting was held with Kang Seong-cheon, the head of the agency, where various opinions on exchange and cooperation measures between Gyeonggi-do and China were exchanged.
In particular, the delegation toured startup incubation facilities operated by the agency in Suwon Gwanggyo and Pangyo Techno Valley, gathering on-site feedback.
Kang Seong-cheon, head of the agency, stated, "Through various support projects of the agency, we plan to promote the entry of local companies into the Chinese market," adding, "We would like to invite Zhongguancun innovation institutions and startups to the Global Startup Summit event to be held in September this year."
In response, Zhang Zhang, director of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, said, "We hope that this visit will expand mutual friendly exchanges between Zhongguancun and Pangyo Techno Valley," and added, "We look forward to the participation of the agency and Gyeonggi-do startups in the Zhongguancun Forum, a high-tech expo held annually."
