Ex-Boyfriend Also Seriously Injured
A man in his 40s stabbed his pregnant ex-wife to death with a weapon in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do.
According to the Jeonju Wansan Police Station in Jeollabuk-do on the 28th, a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, is accused of stabbing his ex-wife, Ms. B (in her 30s), and her boyfriend with a weapon around 10:10 a.m. in Hyoja-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju.

CCTV footage near a hair salon, released through media outlets including MBN, shows Mr. A parking a white vehicle in front of the salon, hiding a weapon behind his back, and entering the salon.
Inside the salon, a struggle appears to have taken place as the curtains were violently shaken. Afterwards, Mr. A came out, got into his car, and attempted to flee. The ex-wife’s boyfriend followed him, opened the driver’s door to block his escape, but Mr. A eventually left the scene.
The ex-wife was immediately taken to the hospital but died. The deceased woman was in the late stages of pregnancy, and the baby was delivered by cesarean section shortly after the incident. Fortunately, the baby is reported to be in stable condition.
The ex-wife’s boyfriend was seriously injured and is receiving treatment at the hospital.
The police arrested Mr. A in an emergency operation in Gimje, Jeollabuk-do, about an hour after the incident. During the arrest, Mr. A attempted self-harm and was taken to the hospital, where he is currently unconscious.
Mr. A had divorced his ex-wife about one to two years ago, and it was reported that the ex-wife was planning to marry her boyfriend.
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after Mr. A recovers and they investigate the motive and details of the crime.
