A is suspected of carrying a weapon while wandering around the north square of Bupyeong Station on Incheon Subway Line 1 at around 5 p.m. that day.
The square was hosting the April 10 general election kickoff rally for Democratic Party candidates from the Incheon electoral district, including leader Lee.
Lee’s personal security team discovered A carrying a weapon near the election vehicles and escorted him to the police station voluntarily.
A reportedly told the police that he was on an errand to sharpen a knife.
A police official stated, "We are verifying the intent behind A carrying the weapon," adding, "We plan to determine the charges after further investigation."
