There are allegations that a report from intelligence agencies revealed that Chinese biotechnology company WuXi AppTec, identified as a security threat by the U.S. Congress, illegally transferred U.S. intellectual property to China.
On the 28th (local time), according to foreign media, sources said that U.S. intelligence officials secretly briefed federal senators on this matter at the end of last month.
The report was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the State Department, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and was presented to about 10 lawmakers pushing legislation to restrict dealings with Chinese biotechnology companies that pose a threat to U.S. security.
Intelligence officials reported to the Senate that Chinese companies, including WuXi AppTec, engaged in activities contrary to U.S. national security interests.
