“Jinhae Gunhangje Festival Becomes a Global Event” … Changwon Special City, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoon In-chon Visits Jinhae Gunhangje Festival

The 62nd Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, held in Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, is bustling with numerous tourists under the fully bloomed cherry blossoms. The Jinhae Gunhangje Festival is a representative cultural resource of the region, selected last year for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's (hereafter MCST) Local 100 project.

Minister Yoo In-chon and domestic and international press visited Changwon Special City on the 28th during the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, touring the cherry blossom spots Gyeonghwa Station and Yeojaecheon, and attended the open rehearsal of the Jinhae Military Band Festival, the festival’s killer content.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In-chon, Changwon Special Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, and Deputy Mayor Jo Myung-rae are visiting the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival together.

Minister Yoo’s visit was the fourth episode of the ‘See Local with Local 100’ campaign, visiting the spring representative festival Jinhae Gunhangje with domestic and international journalists.

The 62nd Jinhae Gunhangje Festival offers a variety of cultural performances and art events under the slogan “Waltz of Spring, Shall We Love Our Cherry Blossoms?” providing abundant entertainment.

Yeojaecheon and Gyeonghwa Station serve as healing and walking zones, offering tourists beautiful cherry blossom streets, while street parades such as the ‘Admiral Yi Sun-sin Victory Procession’ and the ‘Patriotic Parade’ provide additional attractions.

In particular, the Military Band Festival, held from the 29th to the 31st, is a performance that highlights the unique characteristics of Jinhae, a naval city rarely seen elsewhere.
