Busan Nambu Office of Education is holding the 'Local School Authority Protection Committee Appointment Ceremony.'
The Local Teacher Rights Protection Committee is a statutory committee that reviews cases of infringement on educational activities in accordance with the amendment of the 'Special Act on the Improvement of Teachers' Status and Protection of Educational Activities.' The school teacher rights protection committees previously operated at each school have been transferred to and are now operated by the Education Support Office.
Starting full operation on the 28th, the Local Teacher Rights Protection Committee deliberates and decides on judgments regarding infringements on educational activities occurring in kindergartens, elementary, secondary, and special schools in the southern region, as well as measures for infringing students and their guardians. The committee consists of 15 experts from various fields, including education professionals, parents, police officers, and lawyers.
An official from the Nambu Office of Education stated that their expertise is expected to play a significant role in handling cases of infringement on educational activities fairly and objectively, while also greatly reducing the workload on the field.
Park Gwija, Superintendent of the Nambu Office of Education, said, “The operation of the Local Teacher Rights Protection Committee will greatly help actively protect teachers' educational activities and prevent conflicts among school members. The Education Support Office will operate the Local Teacher Rights Protection Committee thoroughly to do its best in guaranteeing teachers' educational activities and students' right to learn.”
