Ulju Public Health Center Operates Elementary School Oral Health Room

Four Schools Including Yeonghacho Improve Awareness of Oral Disease Prevention

On the 28th, Ulsan Ulju-gun Public Health Center announced that it will operate a 'School Oral Health Room' for oral care, including proper tooth brushing practice and fluoride application, targeting about 3,000 students from four local elementary schools.

This project is promoted to encourage the formation of healthy oral health habits in school-age children and to improve oral health risk factors through continuous preventive oral care.

The target schools are four elementary schools: Yeonghwa Elementary, Jungnam Elementary, Onnam Elementary, and Beomseo Elementary, and the program will operate until December, excluding vacation periods.

Oral health staff and public health dentists from Ulju-gun Public Health Center, Nambu Integrated Health Branch, and Beomseo Health Branch will visit the School Oral Health Rooms once or twice a week by region to conduct oral examinations, oral health education, fluoride application, scaling, and more. For more details, please contact the Health Promotion Team at Ulju-gun Public Health Center.

An official from Ulju Public Health Center said, “Through the operation of the School Oral Health Room, we aim to promote changes in awareness and behavior regarding oral health among school-age children,” adding, “We will actively strive to prevent oral diseases in local children.”
