The government will expand and strengthen the disclosure of safety information for household chemical products such as detergents.
On the 28th, the Ministry of Environment announced the "Plan to Promote Voluntary Safety Information Disclosure for Household Chemical Products" at the 3rd Social Relations Ministers' Meeting held at the government complex in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
According to the plan, the government will expand the number of household chemical product categories subject to safety information disclosure from 43 last year to 50 by 2027. The number of substances evaluated for safety will increase from 2,220 last year to 3,000 this year. Substances used at a concentration of 0.1% or higher must be listed, and if a hazard classification is determined, it must be indicated for each substance.
The government plans to prepare a manual by November to implement the revised regulations and will fully apply them starting next year.
