Korea Forest Service Publishes Map of Regional Festivals with Forest Themes

The status of local festivals themed around forests, including flowers, mountains, trees, and forest products, is compiled into a single map.

On the 28th, the Korea Forest Service announced that it has created and published the ‘Forest Theme Local Festival Map,’ which allows users to check forest-related local festivals at a glance.

The forest-themed local festivals marked on the map total 137, containing information on festivals held until June. Among these, 38 festivals are linked to regions with Korea’s top 100 premium forests.

Notably, in March and April, there are the Daejeon Daecheongho Spring Festival and Seogwipo Canola Flower Festival, and in May and June, the Damyang Bamboo Festival and Yeongyang Wild Vegetable Festival are scheduled.

However, since festival periods may vary depending on operational conditions, it is recommended to contact the event organizing institutions by city or province for detailed information.

Additional details about the Forest Theme Local Festival Map can be found on the Korea Forest Service website. The Korea Forest Service plans to provide information on festivals for the second half of the year in early June.

Earlier, the Korea Forest Service announced the ‘Spring Flowering Prediction Map’ last month.

Jang Young-shin, head of the Forest Recreation and Healing Division at the Korea Forest Service, said, “We will discover and provide attractions and activities utilizing forest resources so that a clean leisure culture linked to forest villages can spread among the public.”
