Park Byung-moo, the designated co-CEO of NCSoft, expressed on the 28th his intention to focus on management efficiency and corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
At the regular shareholders' meeting held at NCSoft's headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, Park stated, "A large number of new genre games targeting the global market are set to be released this year," adding, "This year will be the first year of NCSoft's global expansion."
He said, "Last year left disappointing results compared to 2022, which was the best performance since the company's founding," and added, "The global gaming market is very unstable overall, and NCSoft is also facing internal and external difficulties. The stock price has fallen significantly, and I sincerely apologize to our shareholders."
Park explained, "NCSoft has shifted to a co-CEO system to enable bolder challenges and new attempts as a game developer," and said, "We will work together to strengthen game competitiveness and the global portfolio, as well as improve the overall organizational structure."
Park also announced plans to improve management efficiency for this year's baseball team, 'NC Dinos.' He said, "Last year, we paid 25.8 billion KRW to our subsidiary NC Dinos, and we plan to provide a loan of 37.3 billion KRW by December this year," adding, "However, we intend to significantly reduce management support this year."
Earlier, on the 20th, Park drew a clear line against rumors of selling NC Dinos during a media briefing on the launch of the co-CEO system. Considering synergies with NCSoft such as new game marketing and recruiting talented personnel, he emphasized that management efficiency would be pursued instead of a sale.
