On the 28th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it has been selected as the best institution for the 10th consecutive time in the "Local Finance Rapid Execution Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Local Finance Rapid Execution Evaluation is conducted twice a year, in the first and second halves, by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to encourage active financial expenditure by local governments and revitalize the local economy.
In this evaluation, all 243 local governments were divided into four evaluation groups (cities, provinces, cities/counties, autonomous districts) and assessed based on ▲execution performance compared to last year's budget amount ▲execution performance in consumption and investment sectors in the 3rd and 4th quarters of last year. A total of 65 local governments, including 21 best and 44 excellent institutions, were selected as outstanding institutions for rapid local finance execution.
Buk-gu's rapid execution target budget amount last year was 1.1723 trillion KRW, the largest among the five autonomous districts in Gwangju. Buk-gu spent 1.0776 trillion KRW, which is 91.92% of the budget amount, ranking first among 69 autonomous districts nationwide in the execution performance compared to the budget amount.
Additionally, in the consumption and investment execution performance for the 3rd and 4th quarters of last year, Buk-gu exceeded the target amount of 90.8 billion KRW by 28.8 billion KRW, achieving a financial execution rate of 131.72%. It was evaluated as playing a leading role in revitalizing the local economy, which continues to face difficulties due to high interest rates and high inflation.
Buk-gu secured a special grant of 100 million KRW as part of the prize for being selected as the best institution.
