Promotion of Transfer and Referral of Severe and Emergency Patients, and Community Linkage for Discharged Patients
Dankook University Hospital announced on the 28th that it has been selected as the responsible medical institution for the Chungnam region in the "Public Health Medical Cooperation System Establishment Project" organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The responsible medical institutions, which are operated to strengthen regional and essential medical services and to eliminate gaps, as well as to expand cooperation among local health medical institutions, are located in 16 out of 17 cities and provinces nationwide. In particular, only Chungnam National University Hospital has been in charge of this in the Daejeon and Chungcheong areas, which has been evaluated as insufficient compared to the population size.
With Dankook University Hospital designated as the regional responsible medical institution, it plans to promote the transfer and referral of severe and emergency patients, community linkage for discharged patients, mental health promotion cooperation projects, rehabilitation medical care, and continuous management cooperation projects.
In addition, it will form an essential medical council with various government-designated centers (emergency, trauma, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease centers, high-risk maternal and neonatal integrated care center, regional cancer center, etc.) and 16 public health centers in the Chungnam area, operating a regional cooperation system for public health medical care.
Hospital Director Kim Jae-il said, “Dankook University Hospital has faithfully fulfilled its role as a leading general hospital representing Chungnam and a public medical institution by operating the regional emergency medical center, regional trauma center, and doctor helicopter.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen public medical projects for local residents and work to provide higher quality and faster medical services by closely operating various medical and welfare networks as well as local governments.”
