Dongwon Kim, a researcher at KB Securities, stated, "Currently, generative AI services involve AI semiconductors responding to traffic generated by users directly inputting prompts on PC and mobile environments, yet the traffic from service users is explosively increasing." He added, "As of the end of January, OpenAI's ChatGPT traffic reached 2 billion times per month."

Although AI implementation platforms are currently limited to PC and mobile, strong demand is evident, and Kim predicts that from 2025, this will expand to automobiles, robots, home appliances, and more. He said, "Considering the acceptance of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) by automobile users, demand for vehicle AI will also rapidly increase," and forecasted, "Various types of robots, such as humanoid robots and butler robots, will be equipped with AI chips specialized for manufacturers' functions."

Ultimately, the acceleration of competition between NVIDIA and anti-NVIDIA companies to meet AI demand is expected to rapidly grow the AI market size. Kim explained, "Recently, companies like Google, Intel, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics, and ARM have formed a technology consortium called UXL (Unified Acceleration Foundation) to break away from NVIDIA's AI development software CUDA dependency and are promoting an open-source project called One API." He added, "There will be a significant increase in companies demanding AI accelerators that are hybrids of high-cost graphics processing units (GPU) and high-bandwidth memory (HBM), and low-cost neural processing units (NPU) and DRAM combinations." He further predicted, "In the future AI market, GPU, NPU, HBM, and DRAM will all experience substantial growth."

He continued, "AI service users will surge across various fields to improve productivity for work efficiency," and added, "Related companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Samsung SDS, Isu Petasys, and Gaonchips will be the biggest beneficiaries of the AI market expansion."
