100 Million Bottles of Wine, Up to 80% Discount
Lotte Department Store announced on the 28th that it will hold the largest wine and liquor event in the first half of this year. From the 29th to the 7th of next month, all stores will host the ‘Wine & Spirits Week’ featuring 11 importers, offering about 1 million bottles of wine across approximately 5,000 items with discounts of up to 80%. Notably, this liquor event increases the volume by 30% compared to the previous event and expands customer choices by including trendy liquors popular among the MZ generation as well as traditional Korean liquors.
First, the event will offer representative items from ‘Mo?t Hennessy,’ a brand famous for being loved by celebrities, at special prices. The “Emperor of Champagne,” Dom P?rignon (335,000 KRW), Ruinart (110,000 KRW), and Joseph Phelps (129,000 KRW), a prestigious wine from Napa Valley, USA, will be sold at up to 50% off. Additionally, to celebrate the spring picnic season, sparkling wines and white wines that are easy to enjoy outdoors will be offered at limited special prices. Representative items include New Zealand white wine ‘Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc (45,000 KRW)’ and Italy’s top sparkling wine market share holder ‘Gancia Moscato Ros? (21,000 KRW).’
Along with premium wines, exclusive wines available only at Lotte Department Store will also be introduced. French Grand Cru wines such as ‘Ch?teau Haut-Brion’ and ‘Ch?teau Palmer,’ as well as ‘Ornellaia,’ one of Italy’s representative premium Super Tuscan wines, will be offered at discounts of up to 60%. Furthermore, wines personally selected by Jean-Charles Cazes, owner of the French winery ‘Ch?teau Lynch-Bages,’ including ‘Ch?teau Oba Tai’ and ‘Ch?teau Omdpez,’ will be available at special prices.
Especially at this wine event, Lotte Department Store will exclusively introduce three signature wines from the global winery ‘Vi?a Concha y Toro’ for the first time in Korea. This product planning was realized after Lotte Department Store sommelier Kyung Min-seok personally attended the world’s first launch event held in Singapore and held over ten consultations with the Concha y Toro group to secure exclusive domestic release. The three wines introduced this time are the rare ‘Alea Pina Cabernet Sauvignon (390,000 KRW),’ produced in a limited quantity of 150 bottles annually; ‘Amelia Chardonnay (100,000 KRW),’ known for its consistent balance; and ‘The Master Cabernet Sauvignon (70,000 KRW),’ characterized by its dark red color and full-bodied texture. These will be available at up to 50% discount for one month starting from the 29th.
Trendy liquors popular among the MZ generation and traditional Korean liquors will also be featured. At Lotte Department Store’s Dongtan and Incheon branches, a pop-up event for the premium liquor brand ‘818 Tequila,’ launched by global model and influencer Kendall Jenner, will be held. The brand offers four types according to aging period: ‘Blanco,’ ‘Reposado,’ ‘A?ejo,’ and ‘Eight Reserve.’ Customers who purchase will receive a limited edition exclusive tequila glass, with only 100 available during the event period. Additionally, ‘Clase Azul’ tequila, loved by domestic celebrities for its traditional Mexican handcrafted ceramic bottle design, will also be showcased.
At the Lotte Department Store main branch, popular traditional liquors will be presented in collaboration with ‘Daedong Yeoju-do,’ Korea’s only traditional liquor curation platform. Rare products that are hard to find elsewhere will be offered, including ‘Jinmaek Soju Oak (160,000 KRW)’ from ‘Maenggae Suldo-ga,’ the only producer of Andong soju made from 100% organic whole wheat nationwide; ‘Natposeil (173,000 KRW),’ an oak barrel-aged soju from ‘Danong Bio’; and ‘Cheongmyeongju (26,000 KRW)’ from ‘Han Young-seok Fermentation Research Institute,’ led by Korea’s first master in traditional fermentation nuruk. About 30 different types of traditional liquors will be available.
