The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 27th that it conducted an 'Advanced Site Inspection of the Education Development Special Zone Pilot Area' in the Gangwon-do region.
This inspection was attended by more than 40 people, including education support office officials from the seven cities and counties selected in the first round of the Education Development Special Zone pilot area contest (Naju, Mokpo, Muan, Sinan, Yeongam, Gangjin, Gwangyang), as well as Haenam, designated as a preliminary area, along with officials from the provincial office of education and the provincial government.

The inspection team visited the Hwacheon Community Center, which operates all-day care classrooms under local government leadership, to review Hwacheon-gun’s childbirth and childcare policies and gather ideas that can be applied and developed as operational models for education development special zones by region.
Additionally, promotional activities were carried out at Nami Island and the Gangwon Provincial Office of Education to ensure the successful hosting of the '2024 Korea Glocal Future Education Expo.'
Park Jun, Director of Future Education, stated, "We will support the stable operation of the models in the seven cities and counties selected in the first round of the Education Development Special Zone pilot area contest and actively support the development of models for regions wishing to participate in the second round scheduled for June."
