The average assets of senior officials at the Constitutional Court were reported to be 2.82864 billion KRW. Justice Lee Miseon declared assets worth over 7.2 billion KRW, ranking first in the Constitutional Court's assets for this year as well as last year.
According to the 2024 regular asset change report for public officials announced on the 28th by the Constitutional Court Public Officials Ethics Committee (Chairman Kim Changjong), the average assets of 13 political appointees and grade 1 or higher national public officials affiliated with the Constitutional Court, including Chief Justice Lee Jongseok, amounted to 2.82864 billion KRW.
Among those subject to asset disclosure this time, 10 individuals saw an increase in their assets compared to last year, while 3 experienced a decrease. The average net asset increase compared to the previous year was 78.29 million KRW, mainly due to salary savings and other factors.
Chief Justice Lee Jongseok reported total assets of approximately 4.19 billion KRW, an increase of about 129 million KRW compared to last year's announcement. Justice Lee Miseon declared assets of approximately 7.214 billion KRW, an increase of about 733 million KRW from last year, holding the largest assets among Constitutional Court officials.
Among the Constitutional Court Justices, following Justice Lee Miseon were ▲ Lee Youngjin (approximately 4.121 billion KRW) ▲ Lee Eun-ae (approximately 2.723 billion KRW) ▲ Kim Kiyoung (approximately 2.649 billion KRW) ▲ Jung Jungmi (approximately 2.611 billion KRW) ▲ Kim Hyungdoo (approximately 2.431 billion KRW) ▲ Jung Hyungsik (approximately 2.13 billion KRW) ▲ Moon Hyungbae (approximately 1.514 billion KRW), in order of asset holdings.
Planning and Coordination Officer Kim Yongho reported assets of approximately 2.952 billion KRW. Additionally, Secretary General Kim Jungwon held about 2.574 billion KRW, Constitutional Court Research Institute Director Kim Hayul about 989 million KRW, and former Trial Support Office Director Seok Hyuncheol about 667 million KRW in assets.
The individuals subject to this asset disclosure are political appointees and grade 1 or higher national public officials. However, Trial Support Office Director Ha Jeongsu, appointed on January 1, was excluded from the 2024 regular asset change disclosure under the Public Officials Ethics Act.
The Constitutional Court Public Officials Ethics Committee plans to complete the review within three months after disclosure for all subjects and take measures such as warnings and disciplinary requests stipulated in the Public Officials Ethics Act if there are any cases of incomplete or insincere reporting, such as asset omissions.
