The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that First Vice Minister Kim Byung-hwan visited the Namdong National Industrial Complex in Incheon on the afternoon of the 27th to inspect the production sites of the foundational industries and check the progress of measures to resolve vacant job positions.
Vice Minister Kim visited companies such as Ali, a manufacturer of automotive lamps, and EOS, a producer of printed circuit boards, and engaged in discussions with these companies.
Vice Minister Kim stated, "The employment increase has continued at the 300,000 level, and the employment rate has recorded an all-time high for 25 consecutive months, indicating a steady employment trend. Thanks to policy efforts supporting employment for vulnerable groups and resolving vacant job positions, the number of vacant jobs decreased from 220,000 in 2022 to 209,000 last year."
He added, "However, since there are still companies experiencing difficulties in recruitment and individuals facing challenges in job seeking, we will continue to improve our policies."
