[2024 Asset Disclosure] Police Senior Officials Average 1.7 Billion KRW... Yoon Hee-geun 1.37 Billion KRW

Slight Decrease from Last Year... Four Multi-Homeowners
Top Amount: Yoon Seung-young, Daejeon Chief, 5.89 Billion Won

Senior police officials at the rank of Inspector General and above, who are subject to asset disclosure, were found to possess an average of approximately 1.75 billion KRW in assets.


According to the asset disclosure announcement by the Government Ethics Committee for Public Officials on the 28th, the average assets of 30 senior police officials at the rank of Inspector General and above amounted to 1.75218 billion KRW. This is a slight decrease compared to last year’s average of 1.77387 billion KRW (36 officials disclosed).

Among the disclosed individuals, 7 saw their assets increase by more than 10 million KRW within a year, while 12 experienced a decrease of over 10 million KRW.


Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, reported assets totaling 1.36642 billion KRW, including a jeonse lease on an apartment in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, registered under his name, as well as bank deposits.


Cho Ji-ho, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (Deputy Commissioner of the National Police Agency at the time of disclosure), declared assets of 1.88078 billion KRW, including an apartment in Songpa-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and bank deposits under his name.


Woo Jong-su, Chief of the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency, was found to hold assets totaling 1.71533 billion KRW, combining a mixed-use residential and commercial building in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with his spouse, and bank deposits.


Kim Kwang-ho, former Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (Inspector General), reported owning a total of 2.31566 billion KRW in assets, including an apartment in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and bank deposits under his and his spouse’s names.


The highest declared amount was by Yoon Seung-young, Commissioner of the Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency. He owns assets worth 5.89382 billion KRW, including an apartment in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, four multi-family houses, a jeonse lease on an apartment in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, and bank deposits. This represents an increase of 185.78 million KRW compared to last year.


Kim Byung-woo, Commissioner of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, reported the lowest amount at 278.79 million KRW.


Meanwhile, among the 30 police officials subject to asset disclosure, 4 were multi-homeowners (including spouses).
