Jeon Jin-sook, the Democratic Party candidate for Buk-gu (Eul), Gwangju Metropolitan City, held a policy meeting with the Gwangju Metropolitan City Nurses Association of the Korean Nurses Association.
At the meeting held on the 26th, about 10 executives, including Kim Sook-jung, president of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Nurses Association, attended to raise difficulties faced by the nursing industry in Gwangju and discuss policy directions.
Through the policy meeting, candidate Jeon signed the 'Nursing Policy Promotion Agreement,' which includes ▲enactment of the Nursing Act, ▲improvement of nurses' working conditions, ▲establishment of regional integrated nursing centers, and ▲improvement of the nursing education system.
Candidate Jeon said, "Since my time as a city and district council member, I have been very interested in the Nursing Act and even participated in protests for its enactment. Therefore, when President Yoon Seok-yeol exercised his veto power on the Nursing Act, I felt as much frustration as the Nurses Association," adding, "I will contribute to enhancing nurses' rights and establishing a nursing care system for the citizens of Gwangju."
