Busan Western Office of Education (Superintendent Lee Jaehan) will hold the 'Regional Teacher Rights Protection Committee Member Appointment Ceremony and the 1st Regional Teacher Rights Protection Committee Meeting' at 10 a.m. on the 28th in the conference room on the 2nd floor of the Office of Education.
The committee is a statutory committee that reviews cases of infringement on educational activities according to the "Special Act on the Improvement of Teachers' Status and Protection of Educational Activities," and will be fully operational starting from the 28th.
The newly appointed members are 15 experts from various fields including educational activity specialists, parents, lawyers, and police officers, with a term of two years.
The members will review matters such as "measures against those who infringe on educational activities" and "mediation of disputes related to teachers' educational activities" concerning infringements occurring in kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools in the western district.
Superintendent Lee Jaehan of the Western Office of Education stated, "As matters previously reviewed internally by schools will now be reviewed by specialized committee members, it will be effective in enhancing the expertise and reliability in handling these cases," and added, "We will join forces with the committee members to protect teachers' status and educational activities and to create a fair school community."
