The exhibition "REAL BANKSY: Banksy is NOWHERE," showcasing the street artist who conceals his identity and self-proclaims as an Art Terrorist, securing an unprecedented presence in the art world, will be held on Friday, May 10th at Ground Seoul (formerly Ara Art Center).
"REAL BANKSY: Banksy is NOWHERE" will run from Friday, May 10th to Sunday, October 20th at Ground Seoul (formerly Ara Art Center), a new landmark in Insadong. During the super early bird period, available until Sunday, April 7th, tickets can be purchased at a 50% discount (10,000 KRW for adults, 7,500 KRW for youth and children per person) through Naver, Ticketlink, TMON, YES24, 29CM, Kakao Booking, Somssidang, and Maepyo-so app.
This exhibition is composed of four sections, allowing visitors to see at a glance Banksy’s journey from his early works derived from street art to his consistent delivery of messages on various social transformations over the past 20 years, including nonviolence and the capitalization of art. Due to Banksy’s anonymity, direct authorization from Banksy was not possible; however, 29 officially certified works by Pest Control (the company established by Banksy that sells his works and authenticates their genuineness), including "Girl with Balloon" and "Love is in the Air (Flower Thrower)," will be exhibited along with Banksy’s posters, photographs, and video materials, totaling over 130 pieces, making this exhibition deeply meaningful for fans who have awaited Banksy’s works.
Additionally, the exhibition features a 14-meter-long massive drawing recreating Dismaland and a reenactment of Banksy’s ATM performance, along with various photo spots. There is also an experience space where visitors can create custom works and engage with Banksy’s art, offering a unique and immersive enjoyment beyond limits.
