AliExpress Extends 'Zero Commission' for Domestic Sellers Until June

Commission Waiver for K-Venue Tenants Until June 2024
"Commission Policy After July Is Undecided"

AliExpress announced on the 27th that it will continue its commission waiver policy for K-Venue, a domestic product sales channel, until June.

Through this, the company plans to expand support for domestic sellers' market expansion and business growth, and strive to build sustainable cooperation.

K-Venue is a domestic product sales channel launched by AliExpress in October last year. It operates in a similar manner to existing open markets in the e-commerce industry, where the vendors receiving orders from Ali send products directly to Korean consumers. Products sold on K-Venue are shipped domestically, and although delivery times vary depending on the product and region, most are delivered within 3 days. Shipping is free.

K-Venue is used as a channel to address the shortcomings of C-commerce (Chinese e-commerce) companies, such as slow delivery, low quality, and difficulties with exchanges and refunds. Since domestic manufacturers directly join AliExpress, flexible responses to product defects are possible, and delivery times have been significantly reduced by using domestic courier services. The range of products, which was mainly industrial goods, has also expanded through K-Venue to include ready-to-eat meals, fresh foods, and agricultural products. Free returns are supported for all products sold on K-Venue.

AliExpress explained that the commission waiver policy reflects its commitment to win-win cooperation to support domestic small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition to helping sellers increase sales through commission waivers, it is expected to provide benefits to customers as well.

Partners who joined K-Venue have also achieved results. Nongjajeum, a partner newly joined this month, sold Daejeo tomatoes during the '100 Billion Festa' held from the 18th to celebrate Ali's 14th anniversary, achieving sales of 40 million KRW in one day. Office supplies company Exo, which joined in January, recorded an average daily sales of over 10 million KRW during the 100 Billion Festa period, achieving the highest sales performance among all domestic channels on K-Venue.

However, the commission policy after that has not yet been decided. An AliExpress official stated, "The commission policy after July has not been decided yet," and added, "We plan to provide guidance on the commission policy again as the time approaches."

Ray Zhang, CEO of AliExpress Korea, said, "Through the commission waiver policy for domestic sellers, AliExpress wants to help more domestic sellers expand their sales channels and strengthen connections with consumers," adding, "We will especially support the business growth of small and medium partners to create a mutually beneficial business ecosystem."
