Vinatech, an eco-friendly energy materials and components specialist, announced on the 26th that it has secured an 87.83% stake in Susan EnerSol, a company specializing in the manufacturing and sales of capacitors.
Susan EnerSol is a company that specializes in the development, production, and sales of hybrid capacitors and polymer capacitors. It commercialized capacitors second only to Japan. These capacitors support high voltages above 100V and are applied as essential components in various industries including automotive electronics, intelligent robots, communication equipment, video devices, and more.
Susan EnerSol’s capacitors are expected to complement the characteristics of the supercapacitors currently operated by Vinatech, thereby expanding the market scope. By expanding the product portfolio to include not only existing supercapacitors but also hybrid and polymer capacitors, the goal is to actively enter the electrified vehicle market, including hybrid cars.
Additionally, both Vinatech and Susan EnerSol have production bases in Vietnam, which is expected to make the overall integration process efficient. In particular, since their technology, production, and target markets are similar, it is anticipated that synergies will be created in technology response and market expansion.
The supercapacitor market is expected to grow sharply at an average annual rate of 14.1% from 2022 to 2028. Demand is forecasted to steadily increase due to diversification across various industries and applications. Vinatech’s acquisition of Susan EnerSol is seen as a move to further expand the global presence of supercapacitors based on the synergy between the two companies.
A Vinatech representative stated, “By combining Vinatech, the global market leader in supercapacitors, with the core technologies held by Susan EnerSol, we will further solidify our position as a top global capacitor company. Through the synergy between the two companies, we will strive to develop technology, expand production facilities, and open new markets.”
Meanwhile, Susan EnerSol’s company name is expected to be changed to ‘Vina EnerSol’.
