Miryang Strawberry: Excellence in Taste, Appearance, and Quality Revealed

Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that the '14th Miryang Samrangjin Strawberry Origin Festival,' held in Samrangjin-eup, Miryang City, the birthplace of strawberries in South Korea, successfully concluded on the 24th with 3,000 tourists visiting, starting with the eve event on the 22nd.

The Miryang Samrangjin Strawberry Origin Festival is a celebration that widely promotes the status and quality excellence of Miryang strawberries, which rank second in strawberry production nationwide, and highlights the historical significance of Samrangjin as the birthplace of strawberries in South Korea with over 80 years of history.

During the festival, various experience booths such as a strawberry photo zone, a four-cut photo booth using the Miryang Strawberry BI, strawberry bread, strawberry jam, strawberry glasses, and strawberry bracelet making, as well as the Miryang Strawberry 1943 promotional booth and Miryang tourism promotion event booth, were popular.

In particular, at the free tasting event prepared to promote the taste and excellence of Miryang strawberries, visitors could enjoy not only strawberries but also strawberry Makgeolli and strawberry sparkling wine. At the direct transaction market, various agricultural and specialty products, including Miryang strawberries, were sold at prices lower than the market price.

Park Eun-gyu, chairman of the Miryang Samrangjin Strawberry Origin Development Council, which organized the event, said, “We hope that tourists who visit the festival will associate strawberries with Miryang, and we will strive even harder to make the Samrangjin Strawberry Origin Festival a successful example of a local festival.”
