Dobong-gu to Operate Contactless Donation Unmanned Storage Lockers from April 1
Dobong Food Market Users Can Receive Items Contactlessly
Residents Without Usual Donation Opportunities Can Donate Small-Quantity and Low-Value Items

<Dobong-gu in the 'Untact Era' Operates Contactless Donation Unmanned Storage Lockers>

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is introducing a contactless donation service in line with the untact era. The district announced that starting April 1, it will operate unmanned lockers where donations can be made and received without face-to-face contact.

The newly installed unmanned lockers were prepared for the convenience of users who wish to receive items contactlessly among the 1,100 Dobong Food Market users, as well as for those who find it difficult to visit during the market's operating hours.

Dobong Food Market is a welfare service that collects food donations from organizations or individuals and delivers them to underprivileged groups within the community. The district selects residents in difficult financial situations, such as basic livelihood security recipients, and supports them with groceries and other items through Dobong Food Market.

The unmanned lockers are installed in front of the Dobong Food Market store under Dobong Station (Daga-chi Center Zone 15) and are available 24 hours a day, year-round. Eligible users who wish to use the service can select up to five items, apply in advance through Dobong Food Market, and visit within two days to collect their items.

Residents who have wanted to donate but had no opportunity can also donate small quantities or low-value items to the unmanned lockers. Acceptable donation items include food or daily necessities that can be stored at room temperature. Donation applications can be made via the Online Food Bank website or by phone.

Of the 29 locker compartments, 10 compartments not assigned to users are available for use as general lockers by any Dobong-gu resident.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “We hope that the operation of these unmanned lockers will revitalize the donation culture in the community,” and added, “We will continue to implement practical welfare services so that no resident is left behind.”
