Yeonsu-gu, Incheon announced on the 25th that it will support adoption fees up to 150,000 KRW to encourage the adoption of lost and abandoned animals.
The eligibility for adoption fee support is limited to those who have adopted abandoned animals that originated in Yeonsu-gu through the Animal Protection Center within 6 months, regardless of the adopter's address, and the animals must be registered with an implanted microchip to prevent re-abandonment.
Applicants must complete the online animal adopter education at the Animal Love Learning Center before applying, and the application period is until the end of December this year, but it may close early if the budget is exhausted.
The support covers medical examinations, treatments, or animal registration fees incurred after the adoption date on the adoption certificate. A detailed receipt that verifies which animal hospital provided what kind of treatment is required.
If an individual adopts an abandoned animal donated and distributed by the Animal Protection Center to corporations or organizations, the adopter can also apply for and receive support. Since 2018, Yeonsu-gu has supported adoption fees for a total of 106 animals through the lost and abandoned animal adoption fee support project until last year.
For inquiries about abandoned animal adoption fee applications, contact the Animal Protection Team at Yeonsu-gu Office, and for abandoned animal adoption, contact the Incheon Veterinary Medical Association Animal Shelter.
