Baemin-KB Securities-World Vision Sign Business Agreement for Baemin School Vacation Lunchbox Project
KB Securities is joining efforts to expand support and fundraising by donating to ‘Baemin Vacation Lunchbox,’ a meal support project for children at risk of food insecurity operated by Baedal Minjok.
Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, announced on the 25th that they have signed a business agreement with KB Securities to collaborate on the Baemin Vacation Lunchbox project through a donation.
This agreement represents a collaboration model where a private company leads the planning and operation of a social contribution project, and other companies cooperate through large-scale donations. ‘Baemin Vacation Lunchbox’ is Baemin’s food safety net project that provides lunchboxes and meal vouchers to children who have difficulty securing meals due to the absence of caregivers during school vacations. Since the winter of 2020, it has been operated in partnership with the international relief and development NGO World Vision for four years. So far, during seven vacation periods, it has supported over 100,000 meals for more than 4,000 children across 285 schools in seven regions including Seoul, Gyeonggi, and other metropolitan cities.

To date, Baemin has donated a total of 1.2 billion KRW to this project, with about 10,000 customers (donors) participating in the campaign and contributing 260 million KRW. Baemin expects that with fundraising campaigns targeting KB Securities’ customers following this agreement, more people will become interested in the issue of children facing food insecurity and participate in donations.
The donation funds from KB Securities will be used for producing healthy lunchboxes for children and for fundraising campaign activities. In addition to the donation, KB Securities plans to provide KB Financial Group’s child economic education program free of charge to children supported by Baemin Vacation Lunchbox.
Ham Yoon-sik, Head of Customer-Centered Management Division at Woowa Brothers, said, “With KB Securities, one of the major securities firms in Korea, joining Baemin Vacation Lunchbox, one of Woowa Brothers’ representative social contribution activities, we can empathize with and collaborate on the social issue of children facing food insecurity.” He added, “Through this cooperation, we hope that not only Baemin but also KB Securities’ customers and many others will take an interest in and participate in addressing children’s food safety net issues.”
