Adult Content Production Company-Hosted Festival
Women’s Groups Condemn “Sexual Exploitation” vs Organizers Claim “Free Sexual Culture”
As women's organizations oppose the upcoming adult festival scheduled to be held domestically, a national petition has emerged calling for the event to be stopped.
According to the National Assembly's public consent petition website on the 24th, a petition titled "Request to stop the sex trade expo event held 50 meters from an elementary school," posted on the 21st, has received over 5,000 signatures so far.
Petitioner A, who resides in Suwon, said, "After seeing last year's adult expo, it was no exaggeration to call it a sex trade expo," adding, "A Japanese female AV (Adult Video) actress exposed her bare buttocks, and male attendees took turns slapping and touching her bare buttocks as part of an 'experience.' There was even an 'event' where the AV actress massaged and touched male attendees."
He continued, "I am angry that an event resembling pseudo sex trade, where people pay to experience skinship, is held in the middle of the city. I am even more upset that there is an elementary school within a 50-meter radius," expressing dissatisfaction that "Suwon City and the Suwon Office of Education have taken no measures in this serious situation."
He urged Suwon City and the Suwon Office of Education to take suspension or closure actions under Article 10 of the Act on the Protection of Educational Environment, adding, "Please join forces to prevent events that treat sex as something to be bought or sold for money for the sake of growing children."
In fact, earlier, Yongin City received a citizen petition titled "Request to cancel the permit for the real doll experience facility harmful to youth" and closed the real doll experience business, which is a free industry not requiring local government permits or business licenses. The city reviewed the Act on the Protection of Educational Environment and confirmed that the facility was a prohibited facility in the school environment protection zone. They coordinated with the Yongin Office of Education and took measures such as filing a complaint with the police.
Organizer: "Held through legal procedures"
The adult expo "2024 KXF The Fashion," hosted by adult content production company Play Joker, is the second event following last year. It is scheduled to be held for two days starting from the 20th of next month at Suwon Messe, a private exhibition hall in Seodun-dong, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon City. Attendees must verify their adult status to participate in the event. At the event, visitors can get autographs from Japanese AV actresses and take photos with them. It is also known that a lingerie fashion show can be viewed.

However, women's organizations pointed out that the event invites Japanese AV actresses under the pretext of pursuing sexual freedom and provides acts that can be seen as "pseudo sex trade." Earlier, on the 12th, the Suwon Women's Hotline and six other women's organizations forming the Suwon Women's Organization Network, along with about 30 civic groups gathered as the Suwon Civic Society Council, held a press conference in front of Suwon Station Cultural Plaza condemning the "adult expo KXF that commodifies women's bodies and sexual acts."
They stated, "This event treats women as sexual objects and consumes women's bodies as play, constituting serious sexual violence," and urged, "Stop the event that exploits and commodifies women's sexuality immediately, as it encourages men to realize fantasies of sexual violence by meeting Japanese AV actresses in real life."
On the other hand, the organizers stated that the event is held following all legal procedures and that the social atmosphere of hiding sexual culture has rather produced illegal adult content. Therefore, they believe that open and free discussions and education about sex should take place now.
