Song Miryeong, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, visited Yukgeori General Market located in Cheongju, Chungbuk on the 22nd to check the supply and demand trends of agricultural and livestock products in traditional markets and the progress of discount support projects for agricultural and livestock products, and to encourage traditional market merchants.

This visit was made as a follow-up measure to the 'Livelihood Economy Inspection Meeting' held on the 18th to check whether government policies to reduce the burden of grocery prices for the public, such as expanding discount support for agricultural and livestock products in traditional markets, are being properly implemented.

The government is conducting an event to stabilize prices of agricultural and livestock products in traditional markets, where submitting a receipt for the purchase of domestic agricultural and livestock products to the refund booth allows a refund in the form of Onnuri gift certificates up to a maximum of 20,000 won per person.

Minister Song toured Yukgeori General Market to check the supply and demand trends of agricultural and livestock products such as apples and pork, and met with market merchants and other stakeholders to listen to on-site opinions. She purchased livestock products using the agricultural discount gift certificate and visited the on-site refund event booth to experience the refund procedure with a cash receipt issued when purchasing fruits, directly checking whether government policies supporting traditional markets to alleviate the burden of grocery prices for the public are being properly applied on site.

At this occasion, Minister Song said, "The government is taking the recent price situation of agricultural and livestock products seriously and will mobilize all available resources and means to promptly stabilize the burden of grocery prices for the public," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that citizens using traditional markets can fully enjoy the benefits of price reductions on agricultural and livestock products supported by the government."
