Plantynet, a harmful content blocking and network security company, announced on the 21st that it recorded a net profit of 2.38606 billion KRW on a consolidated basis last year, successfully turning a profit compared to the previous year.

During the same period, consolidated sales increased by 5.4% year-on-year to 33.06645 billion KRW. Influenced by the performance changes of its subsidiary PlantyM, consolidated operating profit decreased by 13.8% year-on-year to 1.27131 billion KRW. On a separate basis, sales grew approximately 18.3% year-on-year to 13.1 billion KRW, and operating profit also turned positive to 1.82491 billion KRW.

A Plantynet representative explained, “The net increase in new subscribers to the ‘Safe Internet’ service provided to mobile carriers, which is our core business in harmful content blocking, contributed to the improvement in performance. Additionally, a significant portion of new R&D expenses is secured annually through winning national projects, and company-wide cost reduction efforts, such as workforce optimization to strengthen practical capabilities, were also effective.”

Meanwhile, Plantynet plans to approve Kim Jin-hae, former Vice President of Samsung Electronics, as a new inside director at the regular shareholders’ meeting to be held on the 29th.
