The fare for the Suseo~Dongtan section of the metropolitan area express railroad (GTX) Line A, which will open on the 30th, has been set at 4,450 KRW for adults. However, if you apply the K-Pass or GTX's own discounts, you can use it for fares in the 2,000~3,000 KRW range.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 21st, the basic fare for GTX-A is set at 3,200 KRW, with an additional distance fare of 250 KRW for every 5 km (for distances over 10 km). In this case, the fare between Suseo and Dongtan becomes 4,450 KRW.
The Ministry has allowed fares to be lowered by applying various discount benefits. If the K-Pass refund, which will be implemented in May, is applied, the fare will be 3,560 KRW for the general public, 3,110 KRW for youth, and 2,070 KRW for low-income groups.
However, K-Pass users must use public transportation at least 15 times a month to receive a post-refund. At this time, the general group receives a 20% refund, the youth group (ages 19?34) receives 30%, and the low-income group (recipients and near-poverty groups) receives 53.3%.
If it is difficult to use the K-Pass, GTX's own discounts can also be applied. According to the Ministry, based on adult fares, children (ages 6?12) receive a 50% discount, adolescents (ages 13?18) receive 10%, seniors (65 and older) receive 30%, and persons with disabilities and veterans receive 50% off. To receive these discounts, children, adolescents, seniors, persons with disabilities, and veterans must use prepaid or postpaid transportation cards issued through existing credit card companies or community centers.
K-Pass and GTX-A's own discounts cannot be applied simultaneously. A Ministry official said, "The K-Pass is only for adults aged 19 and over and does not distinguish seniors, persons with disabilities, or veterans, so it is reasonable for users to compare the K-Pass and GTX discount programs according to their usage patterns and choose the more economical option."
On weekends, a 10% additional discount is applied to the basic fare. Infants under 6 years old can ride free up to three per guardian. Accordingly, K-Pass users' refund amounts may decrease. For example, a youth using the K-Pass who rides the GTX-A from Suseo to Dongtan receives a 30% refund on 4,450 KRW on weekdays. However, if this youth rides the GTX-A on weekends, they receive a 30% refund on 4,100 KRW, which is 10% discounted from 4,450 KRW.
Even when using GTX discounts, an additional 10% discount on the existing discount amount is applied on weekends. For instance, a veteran riding the GTX-A from Suseo to Dongtan on weekends receives a 50% discount on 4,450 KRW, which is 2,100 KRW, and then an additional 10% discount.

Unlike SRT, GTX also applies transfer discounts. GTX users do not have to pay an additional basic fare when transferring to metropolitan area buses and subways.
Meanwhile, when GTX-A opens at the end of this month, it will stop at three of the four stations on the Suseo~Dongtan section: Suseo Station, Seongnam Station, and Dongtan Station. Guseong Station will open as planned at the end of June due to construction progress. At the beginning of operation, trains will run at an average interval of 17 minutes during rush hours (06:30?09:00) in the Dongtan→Suseo direction, with intervals ranging from 14 to 21 minutes.
