NCSoft CEO Kim Taek-jin Received 7.246 Billion KRW in Compensation Last Year

Approximately 41% Decrease Compared to the Previous Year

Kim Taek-jin, the founder and CEO of NCSoft, received approximately 7.2 billion KRW in compensation last year. This amount represents a decrease of about 41% compared to 12.381 billion KRW the previous year.


According to NCSoft's 2023 business report disclosed on the 20th, CEO Kim received a total compensation of 7.246 billion KRW, including a salary of 2.559 billion KRW and bonuses of 4.665 billion KRW.


NCSoft explained that this decision reflects Kim's leadership at the forefront of the development and commercialization of the hit title 'Lineage W,' released in 2021, as well as his role in driving achievements in overseas markets.

Lee Sung-gu, Vice President overseeing the entire 'Lineage' IP, received 3.788 billion KRW, and Kim Taek-jin's younger brother, Kim Taek-heon, Senior Vice President, received 3.203 billion KRW in compensation. Executive Directors Choi Hong-young and Park Sun-woo also received 2.485 billion KRW and 1.991 billion KRW, respectively.


NCSoft will hold a shareholders' meeting at its headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province on the 28th, where CEO Kim Taek-jin and co-CEO candidate Park Byung-moo will be appointed as inside directors.


Additionally, the company will reduce the director compensation limit from the previous 20 billion KRW to 15 billion KRW and newly appoint Lee Jae-ho, former CFO of NCSoft and CEO of NC West and current CFO of Osstem Implant, as an outside director (audit committee member).
