On the 20th, Anseong City announced that starting from the 29th, it will implement the "Anseong City Low-Income Free Transportation Support Project," expanding the free transportation support target to low-income individuals aged 6 to 64.

The city explained that this expansion of free transportation targets aims to guarantee citizens' right to mobility and revitalize public transportation. Previously, Anseong City had implemented free transportation for seniors aged 65 and older in April last year, and in October of the same year, expanded it to include low-income seniors to support their transportation costs.

The newly included targets for the "Low-Income Free Transportation Support Project" are residents registered in Anseong City who are basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, or single-parent family support recipients aged 6 to 64. Eligible individuals will receive support for up to 80 rides per month on city buses operating within Anseong.

Starting from the 29th, eligible individuals can sign up on the "Anseong City Free Transportation" website and apply for a card, which will be sent by mail. After receiving the card and registering it on the website, users can pre-charge it at their own expense and use it; the bus fares used each month will be reimbursed by the end of the following month.

Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong City, said, "With this expansion of support targets, I hope the quality of life for economically vulnerable citizens from children to middle-aged adults will improve," adding, "We will actively promote the phased expansion of free transportation support targets to guarantee the mobility rights of all citizens and develop into a sustainable city with revitalized public transportation."
