He added, "Just like when a gold medal is revoked at the Olympics, the silver medalist becomes the gold medalist," explaining, "When various issues of former Representative Jeong Bong-ju surfaced and his nomination was canceled, the runner-up Park should have advanced, but a re-election was held."

He continued, "When selecting the Democratic Party candidate for Gangbuk, voting rights were given to party members nationwide, applying a flexible rule," and asked, "Why do they have to go this far?" Lee said, "Park ran in the presidential primary and also challenged the party leadership at the party convention," adding, "It is truly regrettable to trample on someone who is recognized as one of the next-generation leaders like this."

Regarding the nomination controversy surrounding Yang Moon-seok, Democratic Party candidate for Gyeonggi Ansan Gap, Lee criticized it as "a nomination result that concentrates abnormalities."

Lee described him as "a very rough person," saying, "I do not want to comment separately on his words and actions, but there were reports that his morality scored zero during the primary screening process and that this was not reported." He criticized, "I suspect that the nomination process ignored proper procedures either to favor someone in particular or to cut someone off."
