Expanding from 300 seniors aged 65+ in 2023 to 600 in 2024
Using health measurement devices and health management apps for 6 months of remote health care
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is expanding the "AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things)-based Senior Health Management Project" in response to the rapidly progressing aging society.
The AI and IoT-based Senior Health Management Project provides participants with free rental of health measurement devices such as blood pressure monitors and blood glucose meters, and offers non-face-to-face health management services for six months using the health management app "Oneul Geongang" (Today’s Health). Specialized professionals in various fields, including nurses, exercise managers, and nutritionists, assign health missions, provide consultations, and share information. Changes are assessed through health evaluations conducted before and after participation.
Last year, 306 seniors participated, resulting in a 70.7% improvement in dietary habits and a 74% improvement in physical activity, showing enhanced health behaviors. Participant satisfaction was also very high at 97%.
This year, the number of participants has been expanded to 600, allowing more seniors to receive health management services. Currently, 319 people have completed registration in the first recruitment phase, and a second recruitment is planned for April and May.

Imi-ro, head of the Health Promotion Division at Guro-gu Public Health Center, stated, “Last year, we made various efforts such as providing education by digital learning center experts to help seniors adapt well to using smart devices and holding meetings to identify difficulties faced by seniors. This year, we will do our best to support seniors in developing the capacity to prevent and manage chronic diseases on their own.”
