Gurye-gun Hosts 'Gurye Day' for Interactive Communication

County Governor Kim Sun-ho Conducts Customized Communication Sessions

Eye-Level Empathy Conversations, Brown Bag Meetings, and More

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold ‘Gurye Day,’ an empathy dialogue program where people can communicate with each other in a comfortable and free atmosphere.

‘Gurye Day’ was prepared to form a consensus between the county governor and employees and improve the rigid organizational culture through various emotional communication methods suitable for the changed social atmosphere. This program is conducted quarterly with different communication topics.

As the first event, a brown bag meeting with County Governor Kim Soon-ho was held on the 13th.

This empathy dialogue was conducted under the theme “Public Service Life I Imagined” for 19 newly appointed employees this year.

The employees had a simple meal and talked with Governor Kim in a comfortable and free atmosphere.

In particular, Governor Kim volunteered to be a one-day guide for the new employees experiencing the Sansuyu Flower Festival, Gurye-gun’s representative festival, for the first time, guiding them through the festival site and major tourist attractions while explaining the future vision of Gurye-gun.

The county plans to continue empathy dialogues under the themes “Mothers Going to Work Today,” “Fathers Raising Children,” and “I Am Single.”

One of the employees who participated in this empathy dialogue said, “It was good to gather people in similar situations and comfortably form a consensus,” and another employee said, “It was nice to enjoy the festival as a tourist rather than working in traffic control.”

Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “I will actively listen to and reflect the diverse voices of employees in accordance with the changing times to create a family-like organizational culture.”
